A tree-top adventure park for everyone, all year round

Tree-top adventure courses are hugely popular with both children and parents. However, this activity requires a dedicated structure and equipment, as well as specialized supervision.

In 2021, Amazone Adventure took on a daring challenge: to adapt tree-top adventure courses to meet playground standards, making them accessible without equipment and open to the public.

Enhancing the natural environment

These innovative playgrounds enhance urban green spaces by adding value to existing green areas.

These courses are carefully designed to stimulate children. They allow them to move around safely in a natural environment.

Our play equipment is installed on trees, on the ground, or on wooden posts if there are not enough trees available. We use innovative anchoring techniques that respect the tree and allow it to grow. Using trees in a playground helps preserve the natural vegetation of your site, which is essential to urban quality of life. It also creates naturally shaded play areas.

Thanks to these pathways, there is no longer a need to replace trees with artificial steel or concrete structures in landscaping projects. The use of wood chip mulch helps ensure user safety in the event of a fall, while also contributing to the sustainable management of natural areas and the preservation of soil permeability.

A proven design

Although these courses are modeled after traditional tree-climbing courses, they are designed for a more open-ended, less linear experience.

We make the most of the available space to create play areas tailored to different age groups. We also keep caregivers in mind by providing rest areas and comfortable, well-supervised spaces for them.

Regulations

Our “mini-treetop adventure” playgrounds are inspected and tested in accordance with current regulations and comply with the European “EN NF 1176 Playground Equipment” standard.

This unique solution was developed in partnership with testing agencies to meet these stringent criteria.

The PAH standard is not appropriate

The EN 15567-1 standard on sports and outdoor activity structures—high ropes courses—specifies in section §4.3.5.2 that a safety system is not required when users are less than one meter above the ground. However, this exemption applies only if the ground and the fall zone meet the requirements of standard EN 1176-1.

⚠️ It is important to note that this provision applies only to high ropes courses (HRCs). These facilities must have controlled access and be subject to appropriate supervision. Safety, inspection, and maintenance rules must be strictly followed.

In the case of a mini-tree-climbing course with open access and no supervision, the standard for playgrounds is the applicable reference.
